Managing stress
"Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering." ~Winnie the Pooh
When stressed, it can be tempting to do things that feel good in the moment. However, chowing down on a bag of candy might bring temporary relief and pleasure but cause discomfort later. Likewise, blowing money in a mall or casino might give us a lift for the afternoon but leave us with no money for stuff we really need.
Effectively managing stress often involves becoming more aware of what causes stress and thinking through how we might respond to those things.
